The benefits to you of our security cameras upgrade.

8 Apr, 2021

In this article we want to tell you about the excellent progress that is being made in this important project.  As we have written in an earlier article (SEP UPDATES ITS SECURITY CAMERAS ), this project will enable SEP to provide amazing benefits for our clients, Sunderland Enterprise Park and the local area.

Our partners are making great progress, despite the challenges thrown up by the pandemic.  Accordingly,  we would like to thank them, namely, ACEDA Integrated Technology, ADVANCIS Software UK & Ireland and NEBIC I.T. staff, for all the support during this work.

CCTV system

Our new Enterprise level CCTV Management solution (Avigilon ACC7 Surveillance System) is the latest technology on the market.  Therefore, it brings with it some amazing benefits which will help SEP to help you.

The benefits of our new cameras are:

  • Compatibility with your building’s own surveillance equipment. This means we can offer you more flexible security solutions such as remote monitoring.
  • The system is future proof so that we can easily keep up with latest developments.
  • The new cameras provide high-definition images of excellent quality both day and night.
  • The cameras have an abrasion resistant front lens and built-in rubber wipers to ensure clean, undistorted images in challenging weather conditions.
  • The cameras have a powerful zoom lens which still gives exceptional image quality even in low-light settings.
  • High quality and resilient recording server (failover).  Issues with the main server may cause a system failure. However, the new fail over server recovers all data so no information is lost.
  • Smart search facilities which make searching camera footage easy and fast – both images and video.

This last benefit makes the system very responsive. This results in saving the security officers a great deal of time. Moreover, it benefits our clients too. For example, our new smart search facility provides a quick response to find an incident if one has occurred.  This is because it can quickly find an object, person or a vehicle across days or hours of recorded footage in seconds.

Plus, there are environmental benefits

Our new cameras operate at night without extra lighting therefore reducing light pollution and our carbon footprint. In fact, they can operate in complete darkness.

For the more technically minded …

This shows new camera

Meet our new Avigilon H4 IR PTZ camera. It combines a powerful zoom lens with infrared (IR) technology to provide broad coverage and exceptional image quality, even in low-light settings.  It supports up to 60 frames per second and sees up to 250 meters (820 feet) in complete darkness. Furthermore, an abrasion-resistant front lens and optional built-in silicone rubber wiper help to provide a clear image..

The images below are an example of the quality of an image in the dark.

The yellow arrow in this image marks the spot where 2 cars are parked. The image below has been taken by the same camera which has zoomed in so that now the cars and their number plates are identifiable.

The next phase of this project is to change the management software which runs the system. Our next article will explain the ways in which the new software will enable these new cameras to assist you in your security needs and which will enable us to better keep you, our clients, safe, secure, and protected.
